The project for Scotland's West Coast Golf Links is we think another great example of what a small design agency can achieve.

From initial concept through to business planning and forecasting; from brand development to development of the online line marketing; from copywriting to event management. At all stages since the inception of the project The Edge have provided full campaign support.

The aim was simple. Bring the top ten links golf courses in Ayrshire together for the first time to develop a destination/product marketing group to increase rounds of golf played and bed nights stayed. These clear tourism objectives to be achieved through new product development, increased communication, efficiency in joint marketing spend and a more pro-active and collaborative partnership between the golf clubs.

The website is the hub to both the launch and future development. Driven by The Claymore Project (our inhouse CMS for the tourism sector) the site is entirely driven by content controlled by the golf courses and hotel partners. It benefits from a host of Web 2.0 features with RSS golf feeds, online reservations, Blog and activity through YouTube, FlickR, Picasa Galleries and a Downloads page to increase distribution opportunites with tourism partners.

The project was launched at VisitScotland Expo 2009 and we even managed to get The Claret Jug along for the day!
